A museum is a place where antique things and art are preserved and kept for public viewing. The objects displayed in the museum are of great historical importance as they help us learn about the various civilisations that existed before us and how human beings and animals have evolved over the course of time. The art and craft objects even enlighten us about the society and culture that used to exist thousands of years ago.

Last week, I visited a Museum in our city. The museum is famous for its antique specimens of various species. As I entered the museum, I saw that the hall was divided into multiple sections. The first section that I visited was of extinct species. The highlight of this display was the clay model of different types of Dinosaurs and a chart displaying the food chain when these short essay on a visit to a museum mammals used to walk on the surface of the earth.

The possible reasons for the extinction of the dinosaurs were also presented through images and designs. The next section was of Human history. There was a poster showing how an Ape-man evolved into a human being over the span of centuries. Coins of ancient kingdoms were placed in a display case at the centre of the room. Some of the coins dated back to almost years. Earliest of coins were made up of bronze and cast irons while as the years progressed the coins were of gold and silver. In the recent history section, a video of moon-landing was shown depicting the moment when Neil Armstong first put his feet on the surface of the moon.

There were pictures of the vital space missions that had been carried out by different countries. I learnt a lot during this visit to the museum. I was fascinated by the growth Humankind has made, from discovering fire to exploring space and wondered how far we would go in the exploration of our universe.
